For Fantastic Food ...
| The Head Chef produces menus which represent
the best of British cooking. Modern and traditional dishes
sit comfortably alongside each other, all freshly prepared,
using the best of locally produced meat and cheeses wherever
possible, and fish fresh from our suppliers in Devon. |
 |
In The Brasserie ...
|
Our full menu is available, ranging from
beef and ale pies to fricassee of salmon, monkfish and
smoked haddock cooked in a tarragon sauce. There is a
weekly specials board, fish and 'a la carte' locally sourced
meat dishes. Bread, pasta and desserts are all made in
our own kitchens by our talented team of chefs.
We recommend booking ~ including Sunday lunch
A Private Dinning Room ...
This increasingly popular private dining room with seating for up to 24, is used for business lunches,
family special occasions or simply groups of friends
wishing to dine together.
If you wish to pre-plan a special occasion in the private dining room please contact hotel reception well ahead of the proposed date.
|
The Lounge Bar ...
A delightful, beamed room, resplendent with large
open fireplace, deep leather sofa, comfortable armchairs and
a unique 'carved' bar front. Visitors may relax here from early
morning with 'bean fresh' coffee or tea and homemade shortbread
biscuits. The lunch menu of starters and light meals, and paninni
selection is added to with dishes popular with locals and visitors
alike. Afternoon teas with homemade cakes and a selection of
'casual eating' dishes are served throughout the afternoon.
For many months of the year our south facing terrace
with extensive rural views and the enclosed patio enhance
both the eating and drinking experience.
We aim to provide - "Very good food, real
ales and wines in a relaxed informal atmosphere."
Wines, lagers and real ales are carefully
selected to accompany your meal, or be enjoyed for
their own sake. In the country bar, an intimate traditional
bar, Fullers London Pride and Brains Reverend James
are the standard real ales, with a weekly changing
guest ale. The Inn holds the 'Cask Marque' for the
standard of its ales and beers. The wine list contains
carefully selected old and new world favourites, 12
of which are sold by the glass. Vintage ports, malt
whiskeys and Champagne also feature.
Bookings & Reservations
The Beaufort operates on an informal basis with reservations taken only for the Brasserie & private dining room. We do advise, however, that if you are coming as a group you make a booking as suitable places can be limited and popular. For parties of ten or over opting for a restricted menu may also be recommended at busy times.
No smoking is permitted in any public rooms or hotel bedrooms |
